Rob Carr was named a winner at the Civil Contractors Federation NSW annual Earth Awards, where nearly 400 members of the industry came together to recognise expertise, skill and innovation in civil construction.
Rob Carr General Manager Angelo Soumboulidis said the company was recognised for the successful delivery of the microtunnelling & civil works subcontract for Green Square Stormwater Drain.
“This is a tremendous recognition for our team members who worked diligently for over 22 months on the largest contract in Rob Carr’s history. Not only did our team rise to the challenge, they also developed many innovations and process improvements, which have been applied across our business to boost safety and efficiency.
“Congratulations to our project team, and also to our supportive clients—the Drying Green Alliance including City of Sydney and Sydney Water.”
Rob Carr was one of a strong field of seven entries assessed by an independent and expert judging panel on their performance in Project and Construction Management; Innovation; People Development and Training; Quality; Safety; Environmental Management; and Stakeholder Outcomes.
Civil Contractors Federation NSW Chief Executive Officer David Castledine praised the standard of Earth Awards projects and congratulated the winners on their awards.
“Delivering on a project is a real team effort, so it was great to see the finalists so well represented on the night,” Mr Castledine said.
“Each year the industry seems to raise the bar in terms of project delivery. Watching the video presentation of each project on the night gave you an appreciation of just how good our civil contractors are in NSW.
“The judges had a difficult job, but I’m sure the projects selected will fly the flag for NSW with distinction at the CCF National Earth Awards in November.”
