Three Rob Carr Pty Ltd (RCPL) employees were hailed for their professional achievements and commitment to excellence when they were named finalists in the 2018 Civil Contractors Federation Western Australia (CCF WA) Industry & Training Awards.
Tunnelling Supervisor Rob Roso and Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) Operator Larry Flynn are in the running to be named “Plant Operator of the Year”, while Site Engineer Natalia Forero is a contender in the “Women in Civil” category.
RCPL Operations Manager – West Tom Kavanagh said the trio were top achievers and the company was proud to have them onboard.
“We have two of the best TBM people in the business—Rob Roso and Larry Flynn. Rob is our go-to micro-TBM Guru, a great role model and team leader. His crews’ production levels have remained at record breaking levels whilst safety has improved dramatically, even when delivering the most complex jobs,” said Mr Kavanagh.
“Larry is Rob’s offsider and a rising star in our business. Since joining the business, he has quickly developed the skills required for high value micro-tunnelling projects and has been trusted to manage small crews in regional locations where the operating and logistical requirements are highly demanding.
“Natalia Forero is one of the best young engineers I have worked with. She only started her career in the Australian civil construction industry in 2016, but has demonstrated tenacity and capability comparable to senior engineers. Not only does she deliver projects to a high standard, we can count on her to efficiently bring complex projects back on track.”
Winners will be announced at the CCF WA President’s Gala Dinner on 23 February 2018.
